On the 4th day of Serie A, Lazio Roma played against the last season’s performers, Fiorentina. The guests, with the Romanian striker Adrian Mutu in the first eleven, were hopping to get a good result. Unfortunately for them Lazio Roma took their chances and won by 3:0. Lazio dominated from the 1st minute until the referee’s last whistle against a lackluster Fiorentina. Prandelli was like a lion in a cage, but he failed to help his team. Fiorentina only had two ocassions in the 1st half, while the Romans missed from every possible position. Adrian Mutu was practically inexistant. Alexander Frey was a guardian angel, but still he could not stop the dissaster of his team. The first gol was scored by Mauri. A ball was sent high in the area, a Lazio player heads it in the post and Mauri makes an extraordinary bicycle kick, two meters away from the post.
Goran Pandev made it 2:0 after a fast combination with a team player. Fiorentina’s defense was caught napping. Siviglia put his name on the board by scoring with a powerful header from the edge of the box. After a great match in Champions League against the French champions, Lyon, Fiorentina was simply hammered by Lazio.
